CCTV cameras required in Pasay banks
MANILA, Philippines – Pasay City officials will no longer issue mayor’s permits and business permits to banks without closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras. Through an ordinance, initiated by Pasay City councilors Richard Advincula and Grace Santos, banks in Pasay are now required to install CCTV cameras inside and outside the bank premises.
Section 2 of the ordinance states that video footage captured inside the bank must be preserved for a year. A fine of P1,000 will be slapped on bank management caught without CCTV cameras. The fine will be charged daily until the bank installs cameras. Banks caught violating section 2, meanwhile, will be meted a fine of P5,000.
